Who needs a real commercial address
Most of the systems a small business registers with ask for a physical street address, not a mailbox.
When you start or run a Florida business, the same address gets entered in many places, and each of them has its own rules about what an address must be:
- Sunbiz (Florida Division of Corporations). A Florida LLC or corporation lists a principal address and a mailing address on its filings. The principal address must be a street address.
- IRS and EIN letters. The IRS mails your EIN confirmation and later notices to the address on your application. We receive IRS mail as ordinary mail and notify you the same business day; acting on it stays with you.
- Business banking (KYC). Banks verify the identity and address of the business and its owners before opening an account and may ask for documents that show the address.
- Stripe and PayPal. Payment processors verify the business behind an account, including its address, before and after activation.
- Amazon Seller Central. Seller accounts carry a business address that appears in seller information and is used in identity verification.
- Google Ads and Meta Business verification. Advertiser and business verification typically asks for a business address and supporting documents.
Why a PO Box or a home address is a problem
PO Box. Sunbiz does not accept a PO Box as a principal address. Banks, payment processors and marketplaces typically ask for a physical commercial address and may decline or flag a PO Box or a mailbox-store address during verification. A PO Box also cannot receive courier packages from UPS, FedEx or DHL.
Home address. Sunbiz filings are public records. Whatever address you list there is searchable by anyone, appears in data broker listings and shows up on invoices, marketing email footers and seller profiles. Using a home address also mixes personal and business mail and can conflict with residential lease or HOA rules on running a business from home.
Each platform decides for itself what it accepts. What they have in common is that they typically ask for a physical commercial address where the business can actually be reached, and they may ask for documents that show that address in the business name.
What Wilton Plaza provides
Wilton Plaza is an owner-operated business center at 1881 NE 26th Street, Wilton Manors, FL 33305, in the Fort Lauderdale area. Your business address is Suite 212 in a real office building with client Wall Signs at reception, a parking lot and a front desk staffed Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM ET, in English and Spanish.

Conference Room. A private room that seats six for client meetings, closings and interviews. Business Address includes 1 hour a month, Virtual Office 2 hours, for meetings or on-site work; then $25 per hour, never more than $75 a day.
